Country information

Botswana

Botswana is considered as one of Africa's best wildlife destinations. Besides being on National Geographics top 10 countries to visit in 2016, there are many reasons for this. One of them being that wildlife has freedom of movement across the country and between national parks. It is a common occurence to spot elephants as well as other animals alongside the road while driving from one town to another. The sheer wildness of Botswana makes it an ultimate safari destination. Get yourself moving and experience one of Africa's secret wildlife frontiers. Here are some of the highlights of Botswana:

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve: At 52800kmsq it is the second largest in the world.

The Okavango Delta: 15000kmsq, a UNESCO and World Heritage Site, one of very few inland delta's in the world.

The Makgadikgadi Pan: The salt pans cover a collective area of 16050kmsq-the remains of ancient lake Makgadikgadi

Chobe: Has one of the highest densities of wildlife in the world

Moremi Game Reserve: Lies within the Okavango Delta, home to the wild dog and leopard as well as plentiful aquatic birds

The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: The largest wildlife preserve in Southern Africa @38000kmsq, here one finds red sand dunes and the Kalahari lion

All of the above areas have abundant and varied wildlife, either with the Big 5, or some of them.
