African Bush Camps Foundation

The main focus of African Bush Camps is experiential and adventure travel that embraces conservation through the empowerment of local communities. This is reflected in the creation and operating style of the business. In 2010 a non-profit Trust designed to Giving Back to the people surrounding the wildlife areas we operate in so that the communities benefit directly from tourism and learn to value the natural resources of wildlife and nature. The quality of your guide, quite simply, makes or breaks your safari. All our guides are naturalists with exceptional experience and who know the African bush intimately, and have an amazing knowledge of the African wilderness and its people. Their appreciation of the diverse cultures of the world, and the needs of their guests allows them to deliver the ultimate safari.

The benefit of a privately guided safari is that it does not confine you to a set schedule, but rather offers the flexibility to make the absolute best of each day; walking, talking and learning, game driving, bird watching and maybe doing a little bit of nothing at all.

UNESCO states that through education one can address the social, economic, cultural and environmentalproblems faced by the world today. As such, African Bush Camps Foundation recognizes education as an integral part of sustainable development, in developing attitudes, skills and knowledge to allow communities to make informed decisions for their own benefit.

Most of the parents that live in the rural communities that surround the camps in which we operate are employed by either National Parks, camp fire projects or safari camps within those areas. Our hope is in incorporating profits into funding for the education of their children.

The Foundation supports vulnerable children within primary schools as well as AIDS orphans through scholarships and funding for secondary schooling.
